There are a lot of Blackjack varieties on offer but how exactly do they differ from the standard version? Let’s take a look.

In Double Attack blackjack, the game is played with eight 48-card Spanish decks which means there are no 10s in any of the decks. The Double Attack aspect of the game allows you to place an additional bet after the first card has been dealt to the dealer face up.

Think the dealer has been given a bad card? Then you can place a fresh bet of equal or lesser value than the initial bet and take advantage of the dealer’s weak position.

In Blackjack Surrender, hitting 21 immediately pays out 1.5 you bet but if you’ve been given a bit of a dud hand, you do have the option to concede your hand. If you do surrender, you’ll only lose half your bet rather than the whole amount. It might not be a win but used correctly and it sort of feels like one.

Blackjack Pro is quite unique in that is only played with one deck and there is no chance of two of exactly the same card featuring. Insurance is also a very big part of this game and it’s an option you can take when you think the dealer has blackjack. It costs half your initial bet to do this and if you are right then you will be played 2 to 1 on your insurance bet.

21 Duel Blackjack differs from the standard game in several ways, firstly as hitting Ace 10 for instance is no more valuable than getting 21 by having 8, 7 and 6. Each round feature two face up communal cards which are used both by you and the dealer. You are able to add one of them to use with your face-up card although this will mean placing an extra bet. There is also the option of a side bet before the round begins. Placing this bet means that if your face up card plus the two communal cards include a pair you are paid out 3:1 or 20:1 if it’s three of a kind.

Pontoon is very similar to blackjack, played with eight full decks with the same objective of getting as close to 21 as possible. One of the main differences it that a five card trick (totalling any value) will beat a regular 21. Another difference is that both the dealer’s cards remain face down for the duration of the game and in case of the tie it’s the dealer who wins.
